Back in July of 2019, when I started a complete restoration of my childhood, craftsman style bungalow, my builder suggested I spend a little time with a designer. At first, I was opposed to using anyone, I felt as though I knew what I liked and after all, how hard could it be to choose colors? One trip on my own to the tile and granite showroom and I was totally overwhelmed. I was put in touch with Lauren Grumbles, a real godsend! She listened patiently while we visited showrooms and was able to help guide me in the direction of finding the perfect combination of colors and textures to make the selections visually appealing.

At times I remember feeling so indecisive and insecure of my decisions, Lauren assured me she was with me every step of the way and wouldn't let me make a bad choice. She would do the hard work of looking at all of the samples, narrowing the selections to three and then I would choose one. It also helped knowing I could pick any of the three and the choice would look great!

Did I mention Lauren is a perfectionist? In her quiet way, she makes sure whatever project she is involved with, the results will be top notch. Lauren worked with my price point and was consistently aware of not breaking the bank. I look back on the first few weeks of this journey and wonder what I would have done without Lauren? She is so talented and has a special gift for design. I was blessed and lucky to have her as my designer!

I initially reached out to Lauren with a smaller project but just happened to mention to her my desire to redo my entire living room and a few other living spaces on the first floor of my home. Together, we came up with a plan that met our budget to do exactly that. Lauren is a fantastic communicator and even more importantly, a great listener. As I tried to explain what I wanted and the "feel" I was going for, she transformed those ideas into reality. I could not be happier with how our home turned out and have received so many compliments from friends and family. This won't be the last time I use Lauren!!

Lauren saved us from ourselves on this project. Throughout the process, she has had the vision and an innate ability to meld each individual color/style selection into a beautiful, well coordinated final product that we will call ‘Our Home’. We gave her a great challenge by failing to bring her in at the outset, including the original design. But still, she was able to overcome all of our early faux pas, and we have a fantastic home that flows beautifully throughout.
